Welcome to the training site for Rescue Squad Operations training. During the training, pictures will be posted here. We also have a private, Facebook page for those parents and officers to view.
ALL training documents need to be uploaded into Magellan. Hard copies are to be put into the Service Jacket. Do not email any documents to the COTC unless told to do so. Please read all the way down this web page. |
Operator Course (Level I) -- COMPLETED
I have had several of the same emails addressing the new Magellan set up. Once a parent requests a training, the Unit CO or an officer that the CO has designated to make decisions needs to authorize the training request. From there, the parent/legal guardian must follow the COTC's training request. In years' past, this training was set at $350.00 for cadet deposits. Through many grant requests, NHQ was able to lower the cadet deposit. This may not happen next year. If you want to attend this highly specialized training, then please register without delay and tell your shipmates.
As per a NHQ directive, billets cannot be held for anyone. This is a "first come, first serve" status for all trainings, including Ropes Rescue. Anyone applying to our trainings, please note the following: ALL PAPERWORK, including Pat's waivers, must be LEGIBLE!
You Must Earn Your Certification – This training is unique in the Sea Cadet realm. Upon successful completion of the course, a passing grade on the final test and successful evaluation in the field by MRSC instructors, students of this course will attain certification in Rope Rescue Operations. This course is taught to fire, EMS, rescue, and military units around the world, and the certification is not given away – it must be earned. If you do not meet the criteria for certification, then you will not be certified and will go home with only your Sea Cadet advanced training completion certificate. Mrs. Pat Wagner and her instructors at MRSC have a stellar reputation in this field, and they will not tarnish it by giving certification to someone who did not earn it. This being said, please take this training seriously.
